As a local insider and solopreneur deeply passionate about the handmade industry in Morocco, with a background in organic chemistry and a love of psychedelics, I am thrilled to share how psychedelic mushrooms has transformed my interaction with Moroccan handmade furniture.

My first encounter with psychedelics was in 2023, introduced to me by an American friend named Kaya. She came to Marrakech for a month-long stay and reached out to me on Etsy, seeking a local guide to help her and her friends explore the city and visit local craftsmen. 

At the time, I had no prior knowledge of psychedelics or mushrooms. 

Kaya spoke excitedly about how people use these substances to communicate with spirits, to meditate, and to heal. She also said that she is planning to build a big healing center in Oregon with Moroccan style and facilities where people can visit and heal with magic mushrooms. This piqued my curiosity, as I had never considered the potential spiritual and therapeutic applications of psychedelics before.

A few days later, we met at the riad, and she brought out a small bottle of magic mushrooms, offering me some. As the music played and the aromatic Moroccan incense filled the air, I soon found myself in the throes of a psychedelic experience.

Within an hour and a half, my senses were heightened, and the world around me seemed to come alive. But what struck me most was the profound difference in my interaction with the handmade furniture in the riad compared to mass-produced items. The hand-painted ceiling appeared to dance with vibrant patterns, and the wooden nightstands and coffee table felt like they were pulsing with a unique energy that resonated with my heightened state of consciousness.

We even embraced the furniture, seeking to absorb its vitality. lol.

The lamps with their natural candlelight also captivated me, as did the Moroccan caftan Kaya gifted me, which she said would absorb my sweat and enhance the experience.

As the night progressed, we found ourselves engrossed in deep conversations about the universe, humanity, gods, and faiths…

This psychedelic exploration not only transformed my perception of handmade furniture but also my understanding of the interconnectedness of all living and nonliving things.

Through the lens of Mushrooms, I began to see the handmade furniture not as mere objects but as vessels of energy and craftsmanship. The intricate details, the curves, and the lines meticulously crafted by human hands now seemed to pulsate with a life force that mirrored the vitality of living creatures.

I became attuned to the subtle vibrations and nuances that made each piece unique, each telling its own story of creation.
