5-Best Luxurious SPAs in Marrakesh With Best Photo Opportunity.

Hi, my name is Hassan and I’m a true ‘Marrakesh-sider’ – born, raised, and practically etched into the streets of this city. One of the most common questions I get asked “Are there any prestigious hammams & SPAs in Marrakesh that provide both high-standing hammam & massage experience and the best photo op?”

Therefore, I decided to make this definitive list of the top 5 Hamam & SPA that redefine the art of relaxation and pampering.

From centuries-old traditions infused with modern luxury to breathtaking architectural wonders that beckon the weary traveler, each of these spas offers an immersive experience that transcends mere indulgence. They are portals to a world where the cares of everyday life dissipate, replaced by a profound sense of well-being.

you’ll also meet a team of highly trained therapists and specialists who are experts in Moroccan and international wellness techniques. Also known for their warm hospitality and personalized service, ensuring that every guest’s needs are met with grace.

But before revealing to you what those SPAs are I want to pay attention to the following recommendations:

  • Do not use Email follow-up to make your appointment. Inefficient. Make your appointment through the phone even though you are outside Morocco. Make sure to provide them with the correct information about the number of guests, the gender, the age, and the type of package while you are making the call to avoid any confusion at check-in.

  • If you are here in Marrakesh early booking is essential for non-resident guests, you must book appointments before 3 pm to avoid any extra fees.

  • Do not forget to bring your own amenities if you need them and some cash to tip the technicians because you cannot tip on your credit card.

well, Feel Free Now to Check out this list of 5 top spa in Marrakesh that provides high-standing services in a magical place:

Our recommendations and insights are based on real personal and friends’ experiences. not only that it’s also based on people’s reviews on Trip Advisor and google reviews.

La Sultana Marrakech SPA:

There is an Arabian quote that says “The moral of the book is in the title”.

Sultana {sultan for male} is an Arabic name given to the country’s authority before it became a queen or king. It means prestige, luxury, wealth, and power.

And that’s exactly how you are going to feel at La Sultana SPA.

the SPA is inside the stunning, luxury Riad located close to the Medina, it looks super magical and pristine. The entire hotel is furnished in a traditional Moroccan-style Riad. The lobby is a peaceful garden, and the fine details are everywhere.

The spa is small but functional with a sauna, hammam, and massages. The pool is too small to swim in, it’s more for chilling your feet. The massage  Is excellent. The staff skills are doing their best to make feel comfortable and relaxed.

I’m not sure if they have a day pass package yet, surely they have multiple SPA offers and options that you could choose from.

SLH Ksar Char-Bagh SPA:

The hotel, a 12th-century Moorish palace isolated and really long way from the action of the old city. it is a true replica of the Alhambra palace in Granada, Spain, but located in the heart of the Marrakech palmeraie.

If you book for an SPA as a non-residence you will met at the front door of the palace and be offered a tour of the hotel, including the suites and gardens before going down to get your treatments.

the hammam, a huge dark marble-walled room with a domed ceiling and boiling water bubbling behind the walls pumping steam out into the room.

The Spa staff are very professional and discreet, delivering wonderful calming treatments.

Just Leave your stress and anxiety at the front door and indulge yourself in an experience of absolute pristine.

Royal Mansour SPA:

The spa at RoyaI Mansour is breathtakingly gorgeous, The establishment is stunning, the outdoor and indoor pools, jacuzzi, and gardens are spectacular, which would definitely add joy and happiness to your journey.

the staff are so welcoming and polite and couldn’t do enough to make you feel pampered.

They only have one package: Hamam for one hour and an hour massage at the price of 320-330 USD per person.

You should understand that in most hammams you will be left alone for some short time periods, to help your body absorb the hot steam with the organic oils for easy ethoxylation But at Royal Mansour, this may be quite too long which makes some people feel uncomfortable and like SCAM essentially they are paying premium per hours.

Four-Season Marrakesh SPA:

Four Seasons is a big multinational brand hotel.

in Morocco, there are two four-season branches located in two different cities, Casablanca and Marrakesh. They are both prestigious and worth it.

Our post will mainly speak about the Marrakesh Four Season resort which is located slightly off the main part of Marrakesh-Medina, next to the newly built M Avenu- Pestana CR7, which has a great variety of international food, boutiques, and coffee shops.

They have multiple options for the SPA, yet I would recommend booking a day pass at the price of 150-200 USD per person that would allow you to have full access to the resort facilities including adult AND family pools, kids club, teens club, clay tennis court, fitness center with cardio AND weight room + lunch menu + sauna and steam room + 50min massage.

The Spa offers excellent treatments in the most relaxing environment. Tea, nuts, and dry fruits are provided at the end of the treatment, you can even select what music to listen to whilst having your treatment.

La mamounia

The year I’m writing this article La Mamounia is turning 100 years. 1923-2023. Congrats!

La Mamounia is a lovely, exceptional, and stunning hotel; The spa and outdoor pools are gorgeous.

located a short walking distance from the Place Jemaa El Fna-Medina (the center of the city).

It is an outstanding hotel and very expensive. – NOTHING ELSE!

In other words, the main purpose of your visit is to see the public areas, and enjoy the pools and the best photo opportunity views ever seen, Do not expect the best quality service nor the best hammam or massage experience.

Yet, if you think that it’s still worth it, then try to follow those recommendations:

  • Do not book for “the spa wellness” packages because you won’t get access to the indoor pool or other spa facilities. Buy the day spa package instead that includes one day of access to their facility (pool, gym, etc.). get a massage OR hammam (I would recommend the massage), and lunch (pay separately for drinks, NOT cheap) of grilled seafood and roasted vegetables around the pool.
  • if you are a non-resident, Do not Dress short essentially for men. The security guy at the front door of the hotel would not let you go through. no fancy pants, no shorts, no sports pants, and no pajamas. jeans are okay. try to be as normal as you can to match their dress requirements. this may sound silly for most of you but it’s Marrakesh and it’s how it works in most fancy places.

The Bottom line

The hammam experience is far more than just going to a fancy spa in a very beautiful place with a very fancy pool, and the best photo opportunity…  it’s actually the best way to discover the rituals, the culture, and the traditions of the city.

One of the critical components to having a wonderful experience beyond the place itself is the staff, they must be helpful, professional, kind, and educated enough to implement the bathing rituals correctly.

however, If your main focus is enjoying a professional bathing experience, and you’re not primarily concerned with the opulence of the setting, we invite you to explore our blog post featuring the 5 best budget-friendly spas in Marrakesh.
